Gavin Arvizo was certainly a central figure in the court proceedings. He was responsible for accusing Michael of sexually abusing him. According to him, they were at Neverland Ranch when this alleged incident occurred. Gavin was just a teenager and a cancer survivor when he made these allegations. Due to his claims, the pop star Michael Jackson was arrested and he faced a grand-jury indictment. The four-month criminal trial was highly publicized and negatively affected his reputation a lot.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aside from being accused of molestation, prosecutors claimed that Michael made Gavin Arvizo consume alcohol. He only became famous due to the connection with the Michael Jackson case. When Gavin Arvizo was just a child, he was diagnosed with cancer. The extensive treatment he faced involved his kidney and spleen being removed. Jamie Masada is the owner of the Laughter Factory in Hollywood. Gavin got in touch with him due to the illness. That&#8217;s when he expressed his love for Michael Jackson and reportedly wanted to meet him. Jamie Masada became the bridge to help the boy meet his favourite artist. Thereafter, Michael Jackson actually invited Gavin and his family to the Neverland Ranch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the allegations and criminal trial, their relationship developed over the years. When the boy appeared in the documentary called Living with Michael Jackson, he had a positive stance about the pop star. Gavin was even seen holding his hand and mentioned how Michael allows kids to sleep in his bedroom. However, this statement was strictly innocent and didn&#8217;t portray anything sexual. After this documentary came out, many people questioned their relationship. Michael Jackson\u2019s Neverland Ranch was searched on November 18, 2003. Even the public outrage fueled this controversy. He basically claimed that Michael sexually abused him at Neverland Ranch. Gavin Arvizo even highlighted a time period of February to March 2003. His allegations included that Michael Jackson gave alcohol and forced him to watch pornography.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gavin further added that he had to engage in sexual discussions or even masturbate in front of him. Moreover, Michael allegedly touched him inappropriately and sexually molested young Gavin twice. Even his brother, Star Arvizo, gave his testimony which was later used by prosecutors. This case also revolved around his family&#8217;s claims. His mother, Janet Arzivo, said that Michael Jackson was trying to control their family. Especially after the controversial documentary was released. She claimed that Michael had his associates stop them from leaving the ranch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aside from false imprisonment, the family&#8217;s allegations included child abduction, efforts to isolate them, controlling behavior, restricting their public statements, and keeping them silent under pressure. He said that it was all a \u201cbig lie\u201d and he wants to prove his innocence in the court. Michael never sexually molested Gavin Arvizo, which was later verified in the court trials. It was in the hands of Judge Rodney Melville. The lead prosecutor was Tom Sneddon, Santa Barbara County District Attorney (DA). Michael Jackson&#8217;s defense attorney was Thomas Mesereau. Sources claim that this trial lasted around 4 months and more than 130 witnesses ended up testifying for both sides. Without a doubt, Gavin Arvizo was the key witness and a central figure in the whole case. Thomas Mesereau cross-examined his statements in the court and highlighted the inconsistency.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being at the centre of the molestation charges, what Gavin said in the trial matters a lot. There were different descriptions of events that helped the defendant Michael Jackson. Contradicting statements by Gavin Arvizo and his family did affect the jury\u2019s decision in the end. After 14 weeks of court trials and testimonials, the jury&#8217;s final verdict was that Michael Jackson is not guilty on all 10 counts. Hence, he never sexually molested or conspired against Gavin Arvizo. After being tested in the court trials, the jury found out that he was not guilty. Gavin&#8217;s family was heavily involved in the whole case but all of them lacked credibility in their statements. Michael&#8217;s defense attorney regularly attacked the lack of evidence and contradicting statements of Gavin Arvizo.
